The Prague Mission shut down in January 2003, was reopened on 5th September 2012. On arrival, we realized the information lacuna created by nearly ten years of absence from Prague. After 50 years of diplomatic relations with the Czech Republic, our host country still knew very little of the mega trends that had taken place in Nigeria since our democratization experience began in 1999. Some information available to some notable Czech citizens here were issues relating to the Nigerian civil war. We realized that reforms in the energy sector, current trends in privatization of Government –owned enterprises, unbundling of the energy sector, reforms in the oil and gas sectors, priority given to the agricultural sector and the country’s food security and aggressive drive to attract direct foreign investment (FDI) into Nigeria needed to be properly articulated and explained in the Czech Republic.
Alongside our Mission Charter, the Mission exists to foster excellent bilateral relations between our two countries.
Our mandate in the Prague Mission is to promote, protect and defend Nigeria’s national interest and to protect the interests of Nigerian citizens in the Czech Republic. To achieve these goals there is an urgent need to bridge the information gap between the Mission and its different publics.
It is expected that with this website, our different publics will be served with timely, accurate and effective information on the activities of the Mission. It will promote quick and effective service delivery. There is also an interactive mechanism that allows for a feedback for the Mission to improve its services to its publics. You can access key departments of the Mission, e.g, the Consular section, the Chancery and even the office of the Ambassador by writing to our secure email address.
As you navigate our site, we hope your expectations would be met and above all it will be a great delight for you to get to know Nigeria better.
It is, therefore, my great pleasure to welcome you to our website.
